Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty - The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT, or, much more rarely, NNPT) is a treaty, opened for signature on July 1, 1968, restricting the possession of nuclear weapons. The vast majority of sovereign states (187) are parties to the treaty.
Nuclear Free World Policy - The Nuclear Free World Policy is a commitment by the governments of Brazil, Egypt, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Slovenia, South Africa, and Sweden to shape foreign policy around the goal of "the elimination of nuclear weapons and assurance that they will never be produced again." List of countries with nuclear weapons - There are currently five states considered to be "nuclear weapons states", an internationally recognized status conferred by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
